Successful 2nd Austrian Pickleball Championships at the Vienna Sporthotel

On June 29th and 30th, 2024, the 2nd Austrian Pickleball Championships took place at the Vienna Sporthotel. With 60 participants from all over Austria, resulting in over 90 registrations, this was the largest pickleball event in the country to date. The event featured exciting matches in six categories and was made a great success thanks to numerous supporters and partners. A total of five pickleball courts were marked on the hard courts of the facility, including a centre court with a live stream.

The Setting for Austria’s Largest National Pickleball Event to Date

The 2nd Austrian Pickleball Championships were impressively staged by the organizers. Thanks to partner Streamster, there was a live stream of the centre court matches (as in the previous year). These are also available on demand:

At the Players’ Party on Saturday evening at the Wiener Brunnenmarkt at the Garbanzo snack stand, the pickleball community enjoyed hummus and falafel. Prize items from sponsor ProKennex for the top 3 of each event further enhanced the 2nd Austrian Pickleball Championships.

Peter Robic, President of the Pickleball Federation Austria, gave a very positive summary: “I would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in this Pickleball festival and made these Austrian Championships the largest Pickleball tournament in the country. I am very proud that we were able to provide our athletes with this great setting at the 2nd Austrian Championships. I would especially like to thank Holger Wernicke from the Vienna Sporthotel, who welcomed us to his facility and supported us vigorously. The president of the Vienna Tennis Association, Christian Barkmann, visited the championships and was impressed by the high-quality matches and professional organization.
