In 2024, we made Pickleball history in Southampton – in 2025, we’re taking it to the next level: The 2nd European Pickleball Championships will take place from September 19–21, 2025 in Rome, Italy. Team Austria will once again be on court, and the Pickleball Federation Austria is looking for the country’s best players for the Austrian Pickleball National Team!
New in 2025: Singles!
In 2025, the EPF will once again follow the established format for the European Championships – with two age divisions:

19+ (Open Division)

50+ (Seniors Division)
Both age groups will compete in the following disciplines:

Mixed Doubles

Women’s Doubles

Men’s Doubles
- NEW: Women’s Singles
- NEW: Men’s Singles
Following the initiative of several nations (including Austria), singles have been officially added to the 2025 European Championships program. Both the Open and Seniors divisions will include men’s and women’s singles. Up to 16 players may be selected for the event.

Belonging to the national team roster is a prerequisite for selection but does not guarantee participation in the event.

How to Join the National Team
Selections for the European Championships will be made from the official PFA National Team Roster 2025. The roster is continuously updated – you can apply now!
Requirements:

Recognition of the PFA as the sole Pickleball federation in Austria

Austrian citizenship or at least 6 months of legal residency in Austria
-
Membership in a PFA-affiliated club
-
DUPR rating of 3.5 or higher
-
Active involvement in Austrian Pickleball
-
Participation in national and/or international tournaments

The PFA selection committee – led by Sports Director Ashley Simpson and President Peter Robic – will review all applications individually and on a rolling basis. Final selections for the EPC team from the national roster will take place following the 3rd Austrian Championships (July 5–6, 2025).
